With the objective of strengthening and increasing the educative attention of adults in indigenous communities, the State Institute of Education for Adults (IEEA) carried out a workshop on “Strategies of pedagogical support in the Indigenous Bilingual Model (MIB)” from 3 to 4 August.
26 specialised trainers and link trainers of indigenous education of 21 Coordinations of the Zone participated in the event, who acquired the teaching technics of writing and reading in native languages and the introduction of Spanish as a second language. These groups are formed by trainers of 9 indigenous languages and 25 linguistic variants, among them Zapoteco, Chatino, Chinanteco, Mixteco, Mixe, Huave, Mazateco, Cuicateco and Triqui.
Methodologies and instruments were analysed to strengthen the educative attention of individuals older than 15 years-old of the indigenous communities in process of literacy. The workshop also dealt with cultural and linguistic identity, mother tongue and Spanish as a second language learning, and strategies for the feedback of learning.
